Founder, Smarter Hacks LLC · Retired Naval Officer

I build the systems and AI workflows I write about, in businesses I actually run. Everything on this site gets tested in the field before it gets published.

Background

I spent twenty-two years in the Navy running operations that couldn't fail. You write the playbook, you train the team, you build the system, or things break. That standard is what I bring to every book, workbook, and piece of content on this site.

I built Smarter Hacks because I kept seeing the same problem: small business owners drowning in manual work, using AI on the surface, and leaving most of the leverage on the table.

Every system here is one I use myself first. If it hasn't held up under real operating conditions, it doesn't make it into a book.

What I Do

Three ways this shows up: content, books, and hands-on work.

Content

Blog, social, and newsletter content built from systems I run in my own operations, not tools I only read about.

Books & Workbooks

The Smarter Hacks Library on Amazon. Each book compiles a system that's already working, with a companion workbook to build it on the page.

Consulting

Hands-on implementation for owners who'd rather it just get built. Capacity is limited by design. Current offers and availability live on the Work With Me page.

Credentials

Before Smarter Hacks, I spent two decades as a Naval Officer, building systems, training people, and running operations under pressure. I hold an M.S. in Information Systems and an M.S. in Cybersecurity Management and Policy. That background is why the work here is system-first, not trend-first. I'm not chasing tools. I'm building workflows that hold up.

How I Work

The same standard, whether it's a blog post or an engagement.

  • I only publish what I run. If I'm recommending a tool or workflow, it's active in a business I operate myself. If I stop using it, I say so.
  • Systems before tools. Every book, post, and engagement leads with the workflow. The tool is downstream, never the opener.
  • Documentation over dependency. Consulting engagements end with something your team can run without me. The goal is autonomy, not a retainer you can't get out of.
  • Written for operators. No assumed technical background, no jargon you have to look up. If you can run a small business, you can run what's here.
